Join the Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie as they are unexpectedly called back to Narnia! The four children quickly discover that Narnia has changed quite a bit since they returned to our world. Once the four learn that Narnia is being ruled by an evil usurper, the children are determined to set things right.

The four Pevensies meet the true Narnian royalty, Prince Caspian, and team up with him and the true Narnians to oppose the evil king. Will the Narnians be strong enough to free Narnia from the tyrant? Will Aslan return to help them? Join this club to read the children’s classic fantasy, Prince Caspian—where you’ll follow along with Pevensies and Prince Caspian as they work to save Narnia once again. You and your Literary Guide, Ms. Schuett, will analyze the imagery, themes, and conflicts within the story.

What Makes This Special

It’s a Classic. Prince Caspian is part of the Chronicles of Narnia. It is the fourth book in the Narnia series’ chronological order (which is the common order to read the books now).

Your Guide is a teacher who has guided students through the Narnia series before! Your Guide, Ms. Schuett, is an experienced teacher with a terminal degree (MFA) in storytelling. She is a C.S. Lewis enthusiast who loves to be a guide for the stories she loves, too! About the Book

(From Amazon) The Pevensie siblings travel back to Narnia to help a prince denied his rightful throne as he gathers an army in a desperate attempt to rid his land of a false king. But in the end, it is a battle of honor between two men alone that will decide the fate of an entire world.

A battle is about to begin in Prince Caspian, the fourth book in C. S. Lewis’s classic fantasy series, which has been enchanting readers of all ages for over sixty years. This is a stand-alone novel, but if you would like to see more of Lucy and Edmund’s adventures, read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the fifth book in The Chronicles of Narnia.

Age Range – 8 and up

Parental Guidance

Prince Caspian is a children’s classic fantasy that was written by an English scholar and published in 1951, which means there are some cultural differences and dated concepts. There is discussion of drunkenness and pipe smoking, and there are a few intense scenes and themes in this story that may be challenging for young readers. For example, the reader will encounter murder, beheading, and battles with swords. While intense, these elements of war are not overtly graphic in nature.

There may also be some challenging vocabulary; readers will be encouraged to bring up vocabulary words for discussion in our time together.
