Welcome to the Beneath and Beyond Book Club — where we join with Author David Stricklen to read and learn together! We’re so glad you’re here — and can’t wait for you to learn the story’s secrets and spend time with Author Dave!
What’s Here
This Beneath and Beyond Book Club has ten (10) Lessons. Everything is laid out for you in order, so you can begin at the top of the page and move smoothly through (top to bottom),with videos, activities, pages, and more.
To begin, you’ll need the book (get the book here!) and a blank notebook (to use during the Discussion Video).
How to Begin Each Lesson (What to Do)
- Overview: Before you begin, look over the entire lesson.
- Download/Print: Download and print all of the chapter’s activity pages (Discussion, Vocabulary, and supplemental pages).
- Read: Read the book’s chapter (independently or together, quietly or aloud — whatever works for you!).
- Discussion Page: Complete the Discussion/Activity page. Write your answers directly onto the downloaded page.
- Discussion Video: Watch the Discussion video, and go through the chapter with the author. Bring your notebook, to write answers to questions posed. Follow the directions, and pause the video when asked, to write answers in your notebook.
- Vocabulary Page (Bonus Video): Complete the Vocabulary Page. Look up the definitions (independently or together with the teacher/parent).
- Vocabulary Video: Watch the Vocabulary video, and learn more with the author! Bring your filled-in Vocabulary Page to the recorded Bonus Video class, and add to your page with more information and answers from the video.
- Additional Pages: Complete any additional Activity pages independently or with your teacher/parent.
- Artwork Page: Complete the Artwork page — writing the scene/picture’s action summary and coloring the picture.
- Move Forward! Move to the next chapter!
